3. A mystery letter… from one Jay Gatsby
Suffice to say, we’re fortunate enough to receive quite a bit of correspondence from interested parties these days, but this letter stood out. Why? It appeared to be penned by one Jay Gatsby. Yes, you know, the flash one from the new Baz Luhrman film (or F Scott Fitzgerald novel, if you prefer).
It was certainly scribbled in a chirpily Gatsby manner. “Hi there editor! Like your publication. Very lively. Here’s a story idea for you. Did you know that no less than four national film critics live in Kentish Town? They do. Why so many? No idea! Maybe you should ask them all!”
The anonymous scribe then lists the critics’ names, before saying: “toodle-oo, old sport, Jay Gatsby (Man about (Kentish) Town!
We will give a prize to anyone who knows who wrote that gem. Seriously. But come on now Gatsby, with all those decadent parties, a second-class stamp my man? That orgastic future is simply receding before us.

Everyone should go to the Friday I’m in Love Amy Ball. I used to be the MC for FiiL for the first few gigs. The band are really brilliant and I can guarantee you’ll have a LOT of fun.
There is a band on at the bandstand on Hampstead Heath on Sunday and Monday at 3pm:
