Pinboard: Affordable comedy, clubbing, food and art, this weekend and beyond

This week's crop of things to do and places to go

1. Giggle at Map Studio Cafe tonight

Belly laughs replace the more expected lasagne and jazz offerings at Grafton Road’s favourite corner café tonight. Comedy On the MAP is back for another tickle, with Nick Helm, Gemma Whelan and Gerry Howell all gearing up for Edinburgh with an intimate local session.

Map is an ideal small venue for comedy and for only a fiver it’s also an unequivocal bargain. First act on stage at 7pm.

Then it’s back to the jazz on Friday with the Julian Costello Quartet and world music leanings with a double bill of The Balagan Cafe Band & The Aleph Trio on Saturday. Both from 8pm, £10
