2. Affordable Art up on the Heath
The Affordable Art Fair rolls back into town next week, offering an unthreatening opportunity to snaffle something lovely for between £40 and £4000 a pop.
The temporary site structure has been going up in the fairground at East Heath for the last few weeks, and it makes the event look impressive before so much as a painting has been hung.
As well as 113 galleries exhibiting contemporary works, there are plenty of talks and activities to get involved in too. This year’s thoroughly appropriate theme is Wild Things, with workshops for adults and kids every day, focusing on the untamed nature of the Heath.
And when you’ve had your fill of art, there are the gardens at the many fine hostelries of South End Green at close hand in which to sit and contemplate it all. Remember to pick up the June edition of Kentishtowner in print for a 2-page guide to the best ones. East Heath Fairground, Thursday 13 – Sunday 16.
