New pink drink from Camden’s gin distillery

Local gin purveyors, Half Hitch, have got busy with the berries

C

amden Market-based micro-distillery Half Hitch have launched a new gin alongside their acclaimed tea-infused original.

This one is hand-crafted with the addition of three summer berries to the existing signature base blend.

“We’ve used raspberry, strawberry and blackberry to make a delicious, fruity gin,” says Kentish Town-based owner Mark Holdsworth, “but we’ve also taken care to make sure it’s not too sugary or sweet. I’d say try it neat over ice, with tonic or lemonade, and a garnish of berries or lemon peel.”

The arrival of Half Hitch Pink Berry Gin is the latest innovation in the century-long gin-making tradition at the heart of Camden Town that Mark and his team revived back in 2014.

Local through-and-through, you’ll spot Half Hitch being served at all the area’s best boozers, and the Berry variety, dare we say it, could make for an ideal (very) last-minute Valentine’s present.

“You can pick it up today and every day at our Micro-Distillery in Camden Market, on our website, Masters of Malt and, of course, Leverton Stores,” says Mark. If it’s the latter, don’t forget a swift half at The Pineapple first.
