A performer at Good Ship at The Colonel Fawcett

MUST DO: Good Ship Comedy at Colonel Fawcett

Have a giggle at what is now Camden's best kept stand-up secret

A

fter more than a decade entertaining crowds in Kilburn, at the end of last year the Good Ship Comedy set sail and moved a few miles east to the Colonel Fawcett in that nice neighbourhoody bit of Camden Town just off Royal College Street.

Over the years they’ve bagged massive names: Sara Pascoe, Romesh Ranganathan, Jack Whitehall, Dane Baptiste and Kiri Pritchard-McLean to name just a handful.

December 10th (tonight!) will see Carl Donnelly and his killer punchlines take to the stage, whilst a week later (17th) there’s a Christmas special with John Henry Falle – aka The Story Beast – and his demented tales. As usual they’re compered by resident host Ben Van der Velde, a regular at comedy clubs such as The Stand and Komedia.

They’re also running their first ever New Year’s Eve show, a triple headliner featuring Live at the Apollo star Darren Harriot, John Robertson – the Ozzy famed for improvised “crowdwork” – and Jasper Cromwell-Jones, who regularly does warm-up for Sarah Millican and Graham Norton.
