6. New comedy night – and internet radio station at Map Studio Cafe
As usual the brilliant multi arts space on Grafton Road has got it going on. And if you like a chuckle with your pint, tonight sees the first ever Comedy on the Map night, featuring Joey Page, Cariad Lloyd and Sara Pascoe. It kicks off at 8pm and costs only a fiver.
But on another note, Eza from Itch FM dropped us a line to say they’ve launched a crowd funding campaign to raise money to buy some studio equipment to get the fledgling internet radio station up and running at Map.
“We’ve done some extensive research and the general consensus is that the hip hop community want Itch FM back,” he says. “To do this as successfully as we can, we’re looking to create as much awareness about the campaign as possible.”

Next: mooch uphill to an unexpected market

When Dingwalls opened in 1973 the area round it was known as “Dingwalls” for a couple of years because Camden Market was so small then and the Lock considered nothing special, Dingwalls was the biggest thing there.
The shops around it were mostly junk shops then too (except Compendium book shop), a lot of shops flogged second hand TVs, I remember them because I bought one there.
