Camden Beer Hall

Camden Beer Hall: 24 taps and Bavarian food menu by Theo Randall

Camden Town Brewery’s huge new beer and food venue is about to launch under the arches at the original brewery in NW5

If you wander up and down Prince Of Wales Road on a regular basis, you’ll have seen that there’s been some work going on up Wilkin Street Mews’ famous railway arches.

Inspired by the beer halls of Bavaria, the totally revamped Camden Town Brewery – which first open its doors nearly a decade ago in 2012 – is now ready to fling open its doors as Camden Beer Hall. And there’s nowhere you’ll be able to try fresher unpasteurised beer in the capital.

The good news is it’s gone super big (see main image, above): spread over two arches, there’s loads more space inside, with huge semi-circular windows, distressed brickwork and a bigger outdoor beer garden on the cobbles, right next to the brew house.

With 24 taps on the bar, you’ll find Camden’s much-loved Hells Lager, Pale Ale and Off Menu IPA alongside limited-edition small batch beers exclusive to the Beer Hall (our tips are to try the Ice Cream lager, ABV 4.7%, or the Belgian IPA, ABV 6.6%). With a new beer brewed every week in the arches next door, you can have your say on the latest brews from the brewery.

And that’s not all. There’s a great new food offering as well. Camden has teamed up with renowned chef, Theo Randall, to create an epic menu to pair with your beers, combining Theo’s love for Italian cooking and seasonal ingredients, with dishes you’d find in a traditional Bavarian-style beer hall.

Expect a line-up of freshly baked focaccia slices, topped with roasted porchetta, salsa verdé and roasted fennel (yum!), nduja, scarmozza and tomatoes, or mixed greens, sweet onions, olives, thyme and ricotta.

There are also fresh, seasonal salads, and both small and large plates, including a signature Beer Hall platter packed with fennel salami, bresaola, roasted vegetables, cheeses, breads and pretzels (these are 100% to die for). Or tuck into tasty golden vegetable fritto misto, oozing burrata with roasted asparagus, burnt butter, sage and parmesan, or even how about some rosy rare Hereford beef sirloin?

Beer fans can book an immersive brewery tour and beer tasting designed to teach you everything you need to know about just what makes Camden’s beers so fresh, so you can learn all about how they do what they brew. Visit the brand-new merch shop to get the latest Camden stash, including exclusive Beer Hall merch you can’t get anywhere else.

Plus, the beer shop will have a fridge full of fresh take-home beers, so you can leave with a can in hand, prep for a party and stock up on the latest Beer Hall Batch cans, collaboration beers and Arch 55 Series releases.

As is the custom in any Bavarian beer hall before that first sip: Prost!

The Camden Beer Hall opens 7th June at the original home of Hells, from midday until 11pm every day. Book your brewery tours and tables for beers and food now at camdentownbrewery.com/beerhall, 55 Wilkin Street Mews, NW5 3NN
