t’s one of Kentish Town’s more recent institutions – and no worse for it. The illustrious Tank Party returns to the brewery’s HQ on 13th and 14th October, and as usual it’s totally free.
Inspired by the German tradition of local breweries supplying Kellerbier (cellar beer) to their local communities, it also ties in with London-based Oktoberfest celebrations.
What to expect from the bash? Well, all the usual suspects: Hells, Pale Ale, live music, and food stalls from cheese sarnie gurus Deeney’s, Butchies with their awesome chicken burgers and Vurger Co with vegan fare. Dessert-wise, there’ll be ice-cream sandwiches from Happy Endings. Fancy bringing the kids? They’ll be well-catered for too, with arts, crafts and activities. Oh, and Fido can come along as well.
Back to the booze: fresh Hells and unfiltered Pale Ale will be poured straight from the 120 hectolitre outdoor tanks for guests to guzzle all day long. Arrive early, beat the queues and walk-in for nada, or purchase a ticket for a tenner in advance, guaranteeing entry before 5pm (plus three drinks to equal things out).
And this year, they’re supporting Camden Highline, by donating 20p from every pint sold over the weekend to the project.
