If you happened to make your way along the sloping incline of Fortess Road in the last couple of weeks, chances are you stumbled across a woman, sitting on the pavement, frantically prodding at a typewriter.
This is Keira Rathbone, a fine artist who has been using the nostalgic tool as her main creative weapon of choice for the last 14 years.
And now she’s bashed out the cover stunning image to our August issue, out today.
The big news is that she’s now collaborating with Jessica de Lotz, at JdL Jewellery on this stretch (49 Fortess Road to be precise), where you can buy not only this image but a raft of other, unique works.
Elsewhere in the issue, besides the usual reviews and news, we speak to the founder of Camden Fringe, back for its twelfth run. We also learn more about innovative new community art space Rochester Square; and writer Travis Elborough talks us through the history of the urban park.
