MUST DO: The Irrepressibles at The Forge, Camden

Two dates just announced of inspiring reworkings by the influential band in one of NW1's loveliest venues

One of our favourite songs, like, ever was In This Shirt, the 2010 epic from arty pop combo The Irrepressibles.

And so we’re pretty damn excited that frontman Jamie McDermott and his lot are doing two last minute gigs in Camden this week.

If you’re not familiar with ’em, you may know McDermott from his recent collaborations with mahoosive dance act Royksopp; but the vibe on these shows is set to be much more low-key, with back-to-basics reworkings of favourites from both albums Nude and Mirror Mirror, as well as new rearrangements of classics by the band’s heroes, including a spellbinding version of Elvis Presley’s Always On My Mind (watch the video above).

The shows will form part of a live album, to be released later this year together with their forthcoming third studio album, recently recorded in Berlin.

The Irrepressibles are at The Forge, 3-7 Delancey St NW1, tomorrow, Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th February from 730pm. Buy tickets here. Follow them on Twitter @Irrepressibles.
