As well as picking our favourite new openings, last month we called upon the help of Twizoo – an app that finds the best places to eat or drink based on Twitter buzz – to discover exactly the joints you lot enthuse about the most.
From over 150 places in the running, here are the official top 5, based on complicated algorithms that have crunched all those 140-character missives. And we’ve included some of the enthusiastic messages too.

WHAT??? The Kentish Town Canteen is CLOSING? You just drop that bomb? Details, please…
This is an appeal for advice/help. My fabulous, feisty and much loved aunt will be 90 very soon. She is recovering (well) from major heart surgery so is a little fragile, and her mobility isn’t wonderful. We are looking for a pub where we (about 10 of us) can have a Sunday lunch with her. We need a ground floor room with a loo at that level. We need chairs or a bench with back support for her. We’ve rung a few local places but none can provide all these necessities. Needless to say the food needs to suit all ages and tastes, hence us looking for a pub. Any suggestions?
Hi Carol – The Oxford might be a good option – the dining area at the back has a toilet right there, all on the first, main floor. Their Sunday roasts are very good and a nice atmosphere. They cater for large group too. The only thing is the toilet cubicles aren’t very spacious so that could be an issue depending on your aunt’s current capabilities.
