If you’re already contemplating the C-word, chic interiors store Future & Found will be doing their best to help you out over the next five weeks.

“We want to provide our lovely locals with the antithesis to the stress of traditional seasonal shopping,” says owner Andrea. “By embracing an independent store we, in return, will offer you the luxury of a laid-back atmosphere, expert gift shopping advice, extended opening hours and a whole host of in store pop-ups, competitions and giveaways.”

And the woman means it. A winter events schedule kicked off in earnest last Thursday with free samples from chic French toiletries brand Compagnie de Provence, and continues tonight (Thursday 13th) with an evening featuring their favourite designers and makers from their summer markets, with an opportunity to buy one-off pieces.

The main event this weekend, however, is on Sunday 16th. An ‘Accessories Afternoon’ sees a curated collection of fashion brands popping-up for one day only to sell their wares, including:

One We Made Earlier are husband and wife team, Emma and Rob Orchardson, who met at art college in Scotland and went on to study at Goldsmiths in London. All their necklaces are made in their studio in Deptford, South East London and they live very nearby.

Shackleton will be selling bags. Charlotte Willingale and Jonathan Swanston (pictured) both live in east London; all their creations are designed and made by hand in their studio.

OFORM make rings and bracelets, designed by Naomi Bijlefeld who is based in the Netherlands. She works exclusively with marble, stainless steel and acrylate.

And that’s not the end of it. Other upcoming events? Next Thursday 20th, an evening with Anita Bell, an expert wood craftsman and artist; Wednesday 26th November, a session with Tamsin Salinger, a local actor turned textile designer; and on Thurs 27th, a kids’ shopping spesh with whole host of crazy creatures from the cult designer and knitter Donna Wilson.

And finally, for those of you who can’t wait to grab a festive tree, they’re also launching a range of potted numbers in their courtyard, suitably customised in a stylish signature style. Decorations will be sold in store to accompany the trees.
