If you’ve got kids, we advise you book early for My Brother the Robot, which runs at the Roundhouse over Xmas. It’s the latest production from Tall Stories, creators of smash hits like The Gruffalo.
Based on the story by Toby Mitchell, this is about “family, technology and artificial intelligence”, with lashings of what has made Tall Stories’ brand of family theatre so well respected – storytelling, humour and original songs.
The premise? Set sometime in the future, a little girl called Bobbie lives with her inventor dad in a house filled with technology. Bobbie and her dad have everything they need, however as Christmas approaches she announces that she is lonely and wishes she had someone to play with…
Tall Stories was founded in 1997 by Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell and now tours the UK, Europe, north America, Australia and Asia. As well as the hugely successful stage adaptation of The Gruffalo, other productions have included Room on the Broom (2009), and Twinkle Twonkle (2011) and The Snow Dragon (2005).
