In Pictures: a snoozing partygoer in a supermarket trolley

Party all night, sleep all day: mystery bloke snapped in abandoned chainstore chariot on Falkland Place

Drunk shopping.
Dramatic, er, scenes unfold on Falkland Place at 10am, Monday morning.
Photo: Will Borrell

This merrily dozing creature was spotted this morning by impish Shebeen manager Dave and his bezzie Will Borrell on Falkland Place, just off Kentish Town Road. At what time, you ask? Why, a sobering 10am!

Ouch. And as you can see, the cunning young narcoleptic had the frazzled good sense to half inch one of those higher “metropolitan” trolleys rather than the deeper traditional variety much beloved of the suburban family.

But what we want to know is, did he climb in himself, spur of the moment? Or was he abandoned by a gang of bellowing mates? Or, more prosaically, did the nap round off an arduous night shift at one of Kentish Town’s many mid-sized supermarkets?

If you know – or indeed are – the sleepyhead in question, pray get in touch below. And there’s a joke about being off his trolley in there but we can’t quite put our fingers on it.

  1. I think this photo shows a mere disco nap for this reveller… I saw what I think was the same guy getting his big fish little fish on down Kentish Town Road on Sunday morning!
I took a few photos as he was amusing me while I had breakfast. Available on request!
