K-Town resident for all her nineteen years, save just six months in Harlesdon, Amelia Horgan is studying history, “essentially the gossip of the past”. She has started both vintage fashion and feminist blogs, and is also into photo-journalism, recently snapping a “very tired and sad looking Nick Clegg and entourage”. Last summer she was an intern at Kentishtowner HQ, during which time she wrote about everything from Crossroads Women’s Centre to Truffles Deli in Dartmouth Park.

Where would you like to live?
One of the adorably painted Kelly street houses, or lavish Grove Terrace on the way to Parliament Hill. Both astronomically out of my financial grasp for the next twenty years. It’s cool, a girl can dream.

Who wants to live on this street?
What is your favourite smell?
The high street on a winter morning has its surprising charms: coffee, petrol, tube station and the smell of hustle and bustle.

What is your most important life lesson?
You’ve got to get on with your stuff; keep on trucking. And don’t forget to be kind to each other on the way.

What is your earliest memory?
Cold noses at the Heath caff.

What simple thing would improve your quality of life?
Some more money please, actually if everyone who read this could send me 10p taped into an envelope that would be ace.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Chicken shops (no, not that one). I was a vegetarian for around 15 years before I was, in an inebriated state, fed chicken by a supposed friend. I’ve never looked back.

Where do you hang out
Sadly university takes me away from the haven of NW5 for half the year. On the happy days I’m back in the manor, I split my time between the Heath, Kentish and Camden’s many splendid boozer offerings, heading out east or central when dragged.

Who or what do you hate and why?
The current cabinet, it’s impossible not to. Awful people doing terrible things.

What’s your best experience in NW5?
The Heath is the greatest and easiest place to fall in and out of love.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?
My feet are weirdly small for my height.

Where would you live if you could live anywhere in London and why?
It couldn’t be anywhere other than Kentish. Choosing where exactly is more difficult. Anywhere in the valley between Hampstead and Highgate, down to Camden will do for me.

Her favourite things.
Her favourite things.
Tell us a secret.
When I was seven I set off the fire alarm at my school. Mainly because the ‘press here to break glass’ message was a confusing one – where would the glass go? Surely in a fire it would add another layer of danger? Luckily, there was building work going on at the time and that got the blame. And of course seven year old me was disappointed that, rather than the dramatic shattering as expected, the glass merely lifted up. Still, I didn’t get caught – and the damage to the school day was delicious.

What has your career taught you?
I’ve yet to embark upon one. The thought alone terrifies me.

What is your favourite dish?
Cake. Whatever kind. Always and forever.

Why did you move to NW5?
Mum moved my whole family. Good call Mum.
