Ich Bin Kentishtowner: Arif Hussain, 16, Haverstock Pupil & Entrepreneur

Arif Hussain was born and lives in Camden, ‘extremely close’ to Haverstock School, where he’s studying A-levels. He started his cosmetic business, ‘Bubble and Squeak’, selling to teachers when he was 13, and now has a range of products online and at Camden Market. All his cosmetics are handmade with ‘as many organic and fairtrade ingredients’ as he can source. He will appear in a new reality show called Camden Unlocked, and has joined the Labour party, inspired by past student Ed Miliband. He has also recently volunteered to become a peer mentor giving support and advice to year 7 kids – as well as teaching them how to make soap, of course.

When were you happiest?
Going to Northumberland with a group of people I never knew and becoming really close friends with them, on something called ‘The Challenge’.

Where would you like to live?
I think near Primrose Hill or Regents Park.

What is your favourite sound or smell?
I quite like the smell of Chinese stir fry and waffles in Camden Lock.

I have sadly never been to a gig. I had the chance to go last year but was forced to revise for a geography exam.
