A Proper Snow Day on Hampstead Heath – In Pictures

The roads and pavements might be treacherous now, and isn’t it odd how quickly everyone tires of the stuff? Nonetheless yesterday on Hampstead Heath was pretty magical. We walked a hearty loop that encompassed Kite Hill – all thundering toboggans and pink-faced kids – a deserted Kenwood, Vale of Health and the men’s ponds, where the howls of swimmers echoed across the banks. A few snaps are below, in case you were too busy to see it for yourselves. Although there’s plenty of time – after all, it’s snowing till Wednesday.

  1. Had a lovely walk all over the Heath yesterday – though trying to get to the top of Kite Hill was like trying to cross Oxford Street at rush hour, those were some fast moving sledges! But the atmosphere was fab, and the snow was deep and cold and brilliant. These pics are great and totally reminiscent of how it was for us. Busy but friendly.
