UK Travel: Fisherman’s Cottage, Deal

Mrs Kentishtowner does like to be beside the seaside. And no, we don’t mean this salubrious sandy spot in NW5, either.

In fact, she feels such an affinity with the coast that the other month she returned home, after a particularly successful afternoon at the office, rattling a pair of keys. ‘Guess what I’ve done?’ she said, with a wicked giggle.

Two hours later and we’re cracking open the Fleurie in a beamed country kitchen in a Kentish town. Two more hours and we’re skinny-dipping by the light of the moon. But it’s not until the next morning, heads banging, that she confesses she hasn’t just hired the place – she’s only gone and bought it! And guess who has to now try and cover the mortgage payments?

I jest. But since holiday season is in full swing we thought you lot might be interested in a snoop, virtual or otherwise, around what we have christened Fisherman’s Cottage. Nice, isn’t it?

And don’t tell us you’re not tempted to sprawl on Mrs Kentishtowner’s bed, fiddle with her utensils, or light her wood-burner. Then there’s the delights of the nearby shingle beach, with its fishing boats and castles and wild flora…well, it sure beats a Saturday afternoon sun-bathing with the Staffs on Talacre.

As a special offer, we’ll give the first 3 week-long bookings through The Kentishtowner a mouth-watering 20% off. What more could you want?

Fisherman’s Cottage. Deal, Kent.
