Attend a talk on Virtual Reality
Come and hear from three of the people preparing to bring live gigs direct into your living room. The Future of Human Attendance: Going Down the Rabbit Hole is a panel debate about live streaming, virtual reality and immersive event experiences, areas which are set to explode in popularity and offer brand new entertainment options for us all. Deborah Armstrong (creator of Glastonbury’s famous Shangri La zone), Mazdak Sanii (COO of nightclub-on-your-laptop phenomenon Boiler Room) and Dave Haynes – (of Seedcamp investment team, involved in VR and AR startups) will answer questions and reveal what’s happening in this new technological realm. There’s also a thankfully very real-world bar serving proper drinks throughout. Wed 1 Mar, 18:30 – 21:30, Interchange Triangle, Chalk Farm Rd, NW1 8AB. £3 Tickets and more info.
Make gin in a historic setting
We’re big fans of Kentish Town resident Mark Holdsworth’s tea-infused gin Half Hitch. And now he’s giving you the chance to create your very own tipple in the beautiful 210 litre copper pot still at his Camden Market micro-distillery. Bring anything you like from home or garden to use for the flavours (except chilli, he hastens to add) while learning all about the history of this spirit, and it’s pivotal, if largely forgotten role in Camden’s industrial heritage too. Classes last an hour and include tastings, 100ml of your own gin, 100ml of Half Hitch and discounts on further gin purchases too. Morning and evening sessions available, every weekday. More info and tickets.
Learn how to cook a veggie feast
As part of a nationwide series of vegetarian cooking classes, organic box specialists Riverford are hosting a hands-on cooking class at Primrose Hill Community Association, to encourage us all to eat more of the green stuff. You’ll knock up a feast including things like roasted celeriac with smoky red pepper romesco, a shredded seasonal veg salad with Thai dressing, plus a show-stopping cauliflower, chickpea and greens curry, then sit down with the other guests and enjoy all you’ve prepared over a well-earned glass of wine. The class also includes a copy of Riverford’s Autumn Winter veg cook book and a free box of veg home delivered the following week. Tues 7th Mar, 18:30-21:00, 29 Hopkinson Place, Fitzroy Road, NW1 8TN, £40, Tickets and info.
