Following last year’s success, which saw Kentishtowner commended alongside such heavyweights as the Guardian, Huffington Post, Sunday Times and Metro in the Best Digital News Service category, we were chuffed to feature at the glittering Newspaper Awards once again in 2014.
This time around, we were nominated in the Niche Market Newspaper of the Year category for our print edition – which had only just launched when the 2013 gongs were announced. Not bad, eh?
The overall winner was long-running bikers fave MCN, with an extra special mention for our popular hyperlocal neighbour Hackney Citizen. The panel of judges commended Kentishtowner’s print edition, calling it “buzzy and engaging,” and “a great local support and resource”.
The decision to expand from a daily website into a companion print title has certainly been watched closely, not least by BBC1 News, who you may remember featured us last year.
And with impeccable timing, April’s print edition hits the streets tomorrow. Make sure to grab a copy while you can from all the usual outlets. You’ll find features on K-Town’s indie bar culture, a peak into the Pizza Express building-turned-performace space/squat, a brand new cartoon strip, travel guide to Belsize Park, interview with locally-raised celeb Dappy – plus all the regular hints and tips on getting the most out of north London life.
And if you want to complete your collection, very limited stocks of back issues are available in our online shop too.
