Tate n Lyle at DRAF

A whole load of artists are taking over The Forum

DRAF gallery's yearly arty party takes place in Kentish Town next week - and it's free entry

F

ormer cutting-edge contemporary art gallery DRAF sadly closed its Camden space – you know, down near Mornington Crescent – last year. But the good news is it still hosts its free annual bashes in the area.

Costing absolutely nada, An Evening Of Performances allows cerebral-leaning punters – for one night only – to catch a curated set of live works that range across performance art, spoken word, dance, comedy and music.

This year the do was meant to take place, as it normally does, at KOKO, but due to the venue’s temporary closure (whilst urgent structural remedial work is carried out), it’s now happening right in the heart of Kentish Town. You’ve guessed it – at The Forum.

Expect eight new commissions by international artists including Martin Creed, Stacy Makishi, Charismatic Megafauna and Tate ‘n’ Lyle. Each artistic contribution will charge the venue with what the organisers promise will be “different physical, sensual and intellectual approaches.” A wide array of artistic positions take stage throughout the evening, expanding from the “personal to the collective”, exploring the ways in which people connect to one another.
