Think & Do pop-up climate cafe is back for 10 weeks

Debbie Bourne on what to expect when the cafe and community space opens again this week

Happy days! Awesome high street pop-up Think & Do is re-opening for ten whole weeks in the form of a community cafe run by our very own Vegbox.

The walls have been re-designed to contain an inspiring display of climate action projects that locals can get involved with. There is also a large sharing table where folks can come and hang out and talk.

The cafe once again is dog, and child-friendly, and it’s going to be a brilliant addition to our high street.

Not sure what it’s all about? Think & Do is a community space which aims to give people in Camden and beyond the chance to come together to develop ideas and projects to help tackle the climate and ecological crisis.

Phase 1, from October to December 2019, saw a disused café on Kentish Town Road converted into a welcoming space accessible to all, including families and school children.

Around 80 events, talks and workshops, ranging from tree giveaways and clothes swaps to talks on climate justice were held to support climate action in Camden.

All of these ideas will now be developed in a series of projects in our new community cafe until late April 2020.

Our cafe aims to be an ethical and affordable community hub. We’ll be offering Fairtrade, organic coffee, free tea, home baked cakes and soup of the day made from surplus organic veg from farms around London. The cafe is open five days a week initially, from 8am-6pm on week days, and 10am-5pm at the weekends, with some special late night events. Come and take a walk around our imagination space and get involved in the climate action projects.

If you would like to use this space to host a climate action/climate justice event, or would like to host your own Think&Do pop up, we would love to hear from you! Contact: thinkanddocamden@gmail.com.

We do need volunteers to help host and meet and greet. Do you have a couple of hours free a week? If so, get in touch. We are also looking for young artists to be featured in our gallery.
