Camden Assembly: don’t miss a month of free gigs

Head to Chalk Farm Road for a raft of shows this month that don't cost a penny

K

icking off 2019 budget style? Well then, pop down rather good pub-cum-venue Camden Assembly for absolutely nada all January.

The Spotlight Series is a month-long showcase of what they’re calling “the next wave of hot acts”.

It runs pretty much daily once January gets into its stride (ie next week), with three bands per night, and all tickets, mercifully, free (but you do need to book here).

Kicking things off on the the 8th, musicians include north-west London rapper Casscade, Islington-based artist Mr Hustle, with his hard hitting lyrics, and DJ Skinny Malone.

Then on the 11th there’s melodic singer Sharky, hip-hop maestro Sophomooreik and talented guitar player Killowen.

Plus tons more performers are due to hit the stage throughout the remainder of the month. And if you’re hungry (and do have a few quid to spend), don’t forget to refuel at the tasty Burger & Beyond on the ground floor.
