WMC – The Camden College opens its doors

Saturday is Open Day. Drop in for a free taster of the courses on offer and it might just change your life

T

he whole community (extending far beyond just the Borough of Camden, of course) is invited to come along this Saturday to check out the adult education courses starting in the 2018/2019 academic year at WMC – The Camden College.

It’s the oldest surviving adult education institute in Europe, don’tcha know, founded back in 1854, and today offers over-19s full and part time training in a huge number of subjects, from English and Maths to performing arts, fashion and textiles.

At Saturday’s free Open Day you can tour their historic building at Mornington Crescent (they also have a site in Kentish Town, tucked away on lovely secret backstreet Leyton Place) to get a feel for what happens.

It’s a chance to drop into some actual classes as they take place and have a go at a range of activities on the day.

Sounds like an ideal way to find out if taking a course at WMC, which was rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2013, is right for you.

We’re big fans of the whole ‘back to school’ vibe that the shift to autumn ushers in, so make sure you get involved this weekend, and you never know, this could be the beginning of whole new positive direction in life.

Saturday 8th September, 11am – 3pm, 44 Crowndale Rd, NW1 1TR. Find out more and book your free place on the WMC website here.
