Vegan doner kebabs? Or Smokoloco meats? You choose.

More 'dirty' plant-based fast food arrives in Camden. Plus some really juicy, um, meat

VEGAN: What the Pitta

With Camden’s currently limitless appetite for plant-based junk food, it was inevitable that this leading vegan doner kebab outlet would land right in NW1. Unusually though, it isn’t in the market itself, but a short stumble from the high street, and virtually next door to Brewdog, perfect for that essential late-night ’bab fest. On our visit, the soya ‘meat’ could have done with a touch more roasting for a bit of outer crunch, yet overall the wrap was as drippingly filthy and unctuous as you’d hope, but with (slightly less) guilt. MEAT: Smoko Loco

Want the real thing? Then hotfoot it to the latest new arrival down Camden Market. This Spitalfields institution is known for their distinctive vintage locomotive stalls – and enormo protein-packed sandwiches. The meats are carefully selected (provenance and quality being a thing), then smoked for six hours in cherry wood and herbs. We especially love the fresh and fluffy flatbread, handmade by a specialist Middle Eastern stall in Dalston Market. Top tip? A succulent chicken wrap, with grilled onions, a winner at a fiver Opposite the Flour Station, Stables Market NW1, more here.
