Flaxon Ptootch: Xmas gift Galleria back this Sunday

Handy present-buying opportunity from some great local artists

Following the hit Galleria event back in October, when local artists and designer-makers set up shop for one weekend at gallery-cum-hair salon Flaxon Ptootch, the cool craft market format returns this Sunday (17th Dec) to solve all your last-minute present buying dilemmas in one swoop.

You may remember that outspoken creative firestarter (and Ptootch owner) Michael was originally inspired by the rather limp campaign to fund Kentish Town Road’s Christmas lights. Instead he set up his own festive shopping drive – the Galleria.

Expect many of the same artists as before, plus some new additions. Ceramicist Cat Santos is noticeable in her absence, since her beautiful Kentish Town plates completely sold out last time, but she’s replaced by talented duo Carrie Reichardt and Bob Osborne (pictured above), who have recently shown at the V&A.

Also look out for artist Dan Avenell, celebrated for his artwork featuring Marvel comic superheros having lunch on a New York girder. There are intriguing ‘beard kits’ for sale, plus the team from Earth Natural Foods will be selling some surprises too, with cocktails as ever from Knowhere Special.

If you ain’t feeling festive yet, let’s hope this does the trick – possibly the most fun you can have when simultaneously panicking about present-buying.

Galleria is on this Sunday, 17th Dec, from midday – 7pm at Flaxon Ptootch, 237 Kentish Town Rd, NW5, free
