A new ‘epicerie and bar’ is coming to Fortess Road

Authentique follows hot new arrival Ceremony

Postcard of a once extremely vibrant Fortess Road viewed from Kentish Town.
It would seem the unstoppable march of the connecting thoroughfare linking Kentish Town and Tufnell Park continues.

Seemingly five minutes after the really-very-good vegetarian restaurant and bar Ceremony flung open its doors, garnering rave reviews all around, a new pit stop is about to open on the other side of the road.

Taking the spot of the former 24hr convenience store will be a new grocery, cafe and wine bar. Called Authentique, it follows the likes of Patron in its aim to cater for the now vibrant local French community.

So expect the kind of casual place you can drop by, pull up a stool and tuck into a glass of house red and a cheese or meat platter (on the way home, perhaps).
