A magician is getting a residency in a Kentish Town pub

Prepare to be bamboozled while boozing and dazzled while dining

A slight-of-hand supremo is about to take up summer residency at Gaisford Street’s leafy Lion & Unicorn pub.

With its suntrap front and back beer gardens, let alone the cool little theatre upstairs, the boozer is already a popular hangout at this time of year.

But, clearly there’s still room for the addition of a marauding in-house magician too.

So now every Friday and Saturday night, look out for Thomas Dixon, who’ll rock up and perform seemingly impossible coin and card tricks while you sit at your table.

Thomas is building a nice rep for himself touring local venues, while also teaching magic classes to kids, but this two-month pub residency looks like being a particularly special – and unusual – stint.

And now there’s the perfect excuse to explain away all manner of frequent pub misdemeanors, from oddly empty wallets to hazily forgotten bags/phones/umbrellas: the magician must have made it vanish, right?

That’s the line we’re sticking with now, anyway.

Thomas Dixon appears (and perhaps disappears) every Friday and Saturday night in July and August at the Lion & Unicorn, 42-44 Gaisford St, NW5. It’s free, but you can book at table via their website.
