MUST DO: Open-air theatre, Regent’s Park

A dreamy way to spend a summer's evening in the middle of one of the capital's best green spaces

This proper summer fixture in Regent’s Park goes back decades – nearly a century, in fact, since its launch in 1932 – with both stage and auditorium remaining bravely uncovered.

And the stats are impressive: over 140,000 people visit the theatre each year during the 18-week season.

This year kicks off with the classic Bernstein musical On The Town (which plays right until the end of June) – what they’re calling their biggest production yet.

After that is a new interpretation of Dickens’ Tale Of Two Cities, which runs till early August, before a family-friendly production of Oliver Twist for the school holidays.
