Where to find the free January issue of Kentishtowner

Inspiring locals of all walks of life fill our first issue of the new year. Plus new reviews of Ravel's Bistro, Colonel Fawcett and more

issue-42-kt-coverIn our brand new January issue, out today (Jan 11th) we’re swerving the hackneyed New Year New You thing. Why? Because it’s almost mid-month, and you’re undoubtedly sick of all that by now, right? We sure are.

Instead we promise to introduce you to a handful of interesting locals, a diverse bunch of ordinary – often extraordinary – folk who may inspire you to do something new.

For starters there’s the Mexican painter who works from a shed in Kentish Town, the local mums who’ve filmed their own online sitcom, and a hip hop DJ – that’s Kish, pictured above – who’s amassed two thousand pairs of sneakers.

We also meet an osteopath with practical tips to survive the cold weather, a Columbian coffee expert steering the beans at the area’s best new cafe, and a writer who set to work turning her small NW5 garden into a paradise of fruit and vegetables. Phew!

Hungry now? We escape the chill at Gospel Oak bistro Ravel’s, try the new menu at the Colonel Fawcett and get stuck into the Scotch eggs at one infamous Camden pub.
