North London Food & Culture

What’s in the August issue of Kentishtowner?

Don't miss our summer food and drink special - now available in all the usual spots. Here's what you've got to look forward to

Issue 37 KT coverStuck here all August? Yup, us too. So we thought we should highlight a dozen brand new eateries that have snuck up across the wider neighbourhood (not to mention a raft of old classics, too). Better still, they’ll all put you in the holiday mood.

So journey with us in our food and drink special issue as we head over to the sunny slopes of Haverstock Hill to discover the cheapest bar in London, and then right up to the summit of Highgate for a lively new Puglian trattoria, and Spanish grub at a revamped boozer.

Back in Kentish Town we try fish and chips with a view over the ‘islands’, and then meander down towards Mornington Crescent for a Berlin-style bakery. Alongside the canal, we lounge about on the waterside terrace of a new three-story pub, before hiking north east to check out four foodie openings on Holloway Road. Time for a siesta yet?

If food ain’t our things, never fear as we also report on a tiny pop-up cinema, the annual Camden Fringe arts festival, the Roundhouse’s summer installation – and get some tips from Fortess Road’s up-and-coming music maestro.
