Were you one of the lucky ones crammed inside that old garage on Highgate Road last Saturday night?
Transformed into a retro American diner for a secret bash, it was packed with sartorially-blessed night owls whooping it up over whisky, beat poetry and blues.
The event was a one-off organised by foodie trio The Gastronome, which comprise cameraman Ian Mann, chef Joseph Curtis and smiley manager Ash Millard from the much-loved Southampton Arms.
On hand after a five course feast – think delights like truffled mushrooms, grilled bavette and mac ‘n’ cheese – were local crooners Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. Oh, and plenty of old-fashioned dancing ensued to work off the calories. Talk about keeping it Kentish.

Brilliant. Great name for the event too.
