  1. Sadly, the application to list the building was rejected by English Heritage. The former Polytechnic is locally listed as a ‘non-designated heritage asset’. Camden Council applied this status to the building in December 2010 after councillors voted against the planning officers’ recommendation to renew planning permission for the demolition of the existing building, following a strong community campaign to stop the proposed scheme.
