Exciting news. Today we’re chuffed to unveil a brand new section (drum roll): Your Kentishtowner.
It’s a platform for you, by you. Want to tell our community of 50,000+ regular readers about an event that’s coming up? Share an eye-catching local photo, or contribute to a debate on a hot topic? We’ve teamed up with the Guardian’s N0tice citizen journalism project to create a space where everyone can do exactly that.
What’s more, we hope this is the perfect solution to the increasing number of exciting events that readers email us about on a daily basis. As the site has grown, we simply don’t have the resources to cover everything – so now you can add whatever you wish yourself. Yay. Rest assured, however, we’ll be moderating every contribution to maintain quality, but posts will not be edited.
To kick things off, we’re asking for these contributions: 1) your photos – old and new – of London in all its urban glory, 2) pictures of your lunch (with a chance to win a slap-up one at the Colonel Fawcett) 3) what you really think about the forthcoming local elections and 4) all your events coming up in May, from car boot sales to sell-out gigs.
So what are you waiting for? Dive in. As ever, let us know what you think too. And happy sharing.

Please bear in mind that we moderate each contribution so there may be a delay in the item going live of up to 24 hours, especially at weekends.
