Industrious doings have been taking place under the Overground at Kentish Town West. The ever-expanding Camden Town Brewery has installed a canning line, working closely with Canadian and American craft beer experts.
The first 330ml cans of award-winning Hell’s Lager started rolling off the line a couple of weeks back, so they’re quite rightly throwing a boozy bash in the Brewery bar this weekend to celebrate.
True to form, the new beer receptacles look great, the Brewery having commissioned renowned illustrator Mr. Bingo, whose work has also graced the pages of The Guardian, New York Times, TIME, New Yorker and Esquire mag.
Of course, we all love the original bottles, but it’s difficult to deny that cans are rather handy; from stacking nicely in the fridge to being lighter to heave back from the shops (and less prone to smashing if/when dropped too). They are also all the rage: just look at the bar and pub fridges bristling with brews in tinnies right now for evidence of the beer zeitgeist.
Hell’s in a can is on general sale now, so look out for them in local bars, pubs and shops, available in six-packs or 24-can cases for around £1.99 per can.
Can party: this Saturday November 9th from 12-6pm at Camden Town Brewery. Wilkin Street Mews
