Did you come to our summer soiree under K-Town’s finest railway arches last night? It was our inaugural Under The Overground event, hosted by The Fields Beneath cafe – with tarts knocked up by Flour Of London’s Clare Zerny, and bespoke cocktails from classy subterranean bar Shebeen.
It was also the first time the Fields had opened in the evening, and boy does it make an atmospheric little party space. On one of the balmiest evenings of the year, espresso martini (or two) in hand, a sell-out crowd stood amidst the busy ebb and flow of the station, or sat at tables on the cobbles, the buzz of the nearby Brewery bar very audible. And how magical it was as dusk fell, too.
Our consumable highlights? The tall Kentishtowner cocktail (a blend of bitters, Vestal Vodka, strawberry and soda), naturally, plus a neat little gin and pistachio creation that perfectly matched Clare Zerny’s beautiful cakes – our faves being the salted peanut and chocolate cheesecake lollies, and cute dark chocolate lime curd meringue cones.
If you attended, thanks a million: we hope you had a great time. Keep you posted as we hope to do a part deux very soon.
