Pinboard: The Oxford re-launches, as does Queen’s Crescent Market

Also this week: picnic on the Heath, go check out our artist at the Beardsmore Gallery, party until 10am and enjoy exclusive offers

1. The Oxford: all tarted up?

The Oxford welcomes us back after a nip and tuck
The Oxford welcomes us back after a nip and tuck

After closing for little more than a week to powder its nose, original high street gastro boozer The Oxford re-launches this evening with a fresh look and bit of a party. The invite is open to all to drop by, check out the refit and, for those that pre-book (hurry!) there’s a special £20 5-course taster menu on offer for one night only up in the dining room.

We popped a head round the door last night and regulars will be glad to hear the changes are not particularly dramatic. The odd bare lightbulb here, a lick of paint there. Overall the interior has a slightly more open, less cluttered feel. The menu looked oh-so tempting too. From 6pm tonight. 020 7485 3521 for the last few taster menu bookings.

  1. Hi Stephanie, membership is indeed pay as you go, via monthly direct debits which can be cancelled at any time. The only one that isn’t is the Gold membership, which is a one-off payment. Let us know if you have any suggestions or questions about this…

  2. Hi, for commitment-phobes, is it possible just to pay (at whatever amount – some sort of premium, of course) to attend a members’ event rather than pay a monthly amount which gives all sorts of lovely member benefits?
