7. Free Culture, a free Open Arts evening – and even a free patio goddamit
One for your diaries: an upcoming Open Arts Evening at Books For Free takes place on May 16 from 730pm. “Like an open mic night,” says organizer Jacs, “except we invite all artists and cultural creators to contribute, not just musicians.”
Sounds interesting; and it’ll also help raise money for La Esperanza Granada, a volunteer group focusing on children’s education.
Also, the ever imaginative Fortess Road charitable outlet have dreamt up the idea of a readers’ patio, where people can pick up books from the shop and then sit and devour them on the sunny terrace.
However, they really need help with donations of garden furniture/accessories. “Much is more needed and we have no funds to buy the stuff we’d like,” says Jacs.
So swing by and drop off anything you no longer use. 147 Fortess Road
