Where to pick up your FREE April print issue

The new FREE April/May issue with cover art by Sian Pattenden.
The new FREE issue with cover art by Sian Pattenden.

The April issue is officially in all stockists now so make sure you grab a copy this weekend. In March many outlets ran out pretty sharpish.

So what’s brand new this month? Well, we’ve long been fans of Sian Pattenden’s outsider art and we’re excited that she created our exclusive cover. And if you like it, why not consider buying an original print from our new online shop? Yes, we’ve said the shop is about to launch for ages. Well, now it finally has!

Inside the issue, it’s a bit of an arts special: we’ve bagged an exclusive with Bob Stanley, founder of seminal 90s band Saint Etienne, who commemorates the 20th anniversary of their iconic track Mario’s Café; Nikki Verdon picks highlights from local galleries’ current shows, and we chat to Scratchline Tattoo’s very heavily inked owners.

Elsewhere, staff writer Tim Sowula talks us through his decision to have a “big fat Kentishtowner wedding”, we discover what makes eccentric toy shop owner Kristin Baybar tick, and don’t miss our verdict on the Colonel Fawcett, the acclaimed gastropub with a new chef. Plus there’s loads more, including a 16 mile walk around the borough boundary, our Top 5 cocktail bars and a comprehensive Free Weekend guide to Stoke Newington.
