DRINK: Sip a Kentish Town Ale
Local musician and man-about-town Will Hunt is the geezer behind the zesty new Kentish Town Pale Ale (a not-too-crazy 4.2% ABV). Made by Froth Blowers Brewing Co (Birmingham’s largest real ale brewery) it’s only been available for the last 12 months at NW5 pubs the Southampton Arms, Pineapple, Rose & Crown and Tapping The Admiral. They’re now planning a whole rebrand of the company, and are looking for a K-Town artist to redesign the pump clip (with proceeds to a local charity). Know anyone (or perhaps yourself?) ART: Form at The Cob
Don’t miss the first exhibition in an ambitious three-parter over the course of 2018 at this underrated contemporary art gallery. It will show work by groups of young, international multidisciplinary artists who bring “distinct voices and striking approaches” to painting, sculpture, digital art, photography and mixed media. Until 10th March, free entry, 205 Royal College St NW1. More info here.
FITNESS: Martial Arts Club is open
A couple of blocks behind the Gipsy Queen pub on Malden Road, adults and kids now congregate on a weekly basis to learn the ancient Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do. Run by Master S Johnson, three-time World Champion, it aims to give anyone the opportunity to learn effective self-defence techniques plus the chance to compete in UK and international tournaments. Every Wed 7-8pm, Wendling TRA Hall, 117 Wellesley Road, NW5
