One of the hottest budget pizza joints in the capital is here. The new 60-seater branch takes over the site of fast food outlet Sam’s Chicken right opposite Kentish Town station.
Never been to Franco? Then you could head forthwith to the nearish Haverstock Hill outlet, only a mile or so away and a good example of their schtick: no bookings, no-brand beer, well-priced house wine and a swiftly moving queue (there really are long queues at peak hours).
Oh, and best of all? Good-value Neapolitan pizzas from about a fiver upwards baked in a wood-burning brick oven at 500 degrees centigrade – for just 55 seconds. Our favourite ever is the marguerita with wild garlic pesto and Gloucester Old Spot ham. Delish.
