Sunday Times quote Thriving Magazine

April 24, 2013: Kentishtowner is commended for Best UK Digital Service at 2013 Newspaper Awards alongside guardian.co.uk, sundaytimes.co.uk and huffingtonpost.co.uk

Kentishtowner is North London’s award-winning “good news” daily magazine. It was founded in 2010 and has built up a passionate and devoted following based mostly in central/north London. We leave the hard stuff to other people and instead cover the arts, food, lifestyle, travel and people. We have broken stories locally and globally, gone from online to print – and the wider press has followed our every move, with features on us everywhere from the Sunday Times to a slot on primetime BBC1.

March 18, 2013: BBC1 report on the Kentishtowner phenomenon

Ads Really Work

Advertising Notes

Our 2012 Awards Readers Survey revealed that 57% of our readers are female, and 43% male. 39.8% are in the 30s, 32.8% are in their 20s, and 13.1% are in their 40s, with the remaining 15% spanning teens to 60s.

On February 1 we launched our monthly 16 page full colour high quality print edition, which has a readership of 20,000 and is distributed at 50 key outlets across the Borough. This underlines our commitment to providing a service across multiple platforms – online, tablets and print media.

Our unique approach has been praised in international titles like The Guardian, Independent, FT, Time Out, Metro, Evening Standard and more. In July 2012 we were featured in the Sunday Times after being awarded funding from NESTA. See our press section.

Advertising policy
Sometimes we may carry advertising content in our editorial stream. This is clearly labelled as ‘sponsored by’ or the editorial is marked by a boxed ‘special/reader offer.’ We use the words ‘special’ to mean the post has been supported by an advertiser. If the sponsor has produced the copy too we will always say.
Some of our weekly slots are ‘In association with’. This simply means the advertiser supports a specific weekly section only (such as The Wednesday Picture, or Why It Matters), yet does not in any way influence our editorial, which is produced in-house like everything else.
Competitions policy
Competitions on Kentishtowner are marked ‘sponsored’ as highlighted above. Normally, we need to take an email address in order to notify winners. We will never share contact details with third parties (such as the company behind the competition) without opt-in permission. Nor will we store or use your details ourselves, other than to notify winners.
