North London Food & Culture

The February print issue is out now. Here’s where to find it

Street poets, erotic fiction, club nights, new openings, food reviews, brutalist architecture, yoga....it's all in there

The weather’s changing (well, a little bit) and – as if by magic – our brand new print issue is out across half a dozen north London postcodes today too. And, as ever, it’s free of charge. Nada.

This month, we celebrate one of the area’s best cultural secrets, the Lion & Unicorn theatre, tucked away on leafy Gaisford Street.

Known primarily for contemporary plays and new writing, it’s been run and managed for the last year or so by community organisation Cutting the Strings. And a regular monthly night is set to broaden its appeal further.

Inside, we speak to the four young performers, including Matt Abbott (our cover star) of Spit & Polish, a spoken word event which takes place on 19th Feb with an eclectic line-up.

Elsewhere, we compare two very different sushi restaurants, count down ten very hot new openings in the area, look back at fifty years of electronic music in Camden – and hear from an annual convention for erotic writers. Oo-er.

And don’t forget – there are loads of special offers and discounts at restaurants, pubs and other local hangouts.
