There’s an ice bar opening in Camden, plus a speakeasy special

A new seasonal bar, plus a 1920's style networking event

London might finally start to feel wintery this weekend, with temperatures apparently about to plunge, but Proud Camden is way ahead of the game. Their summertime Secret Garden, the hit outdoor terrace bar complete with decadent hot tub, has been given a thoroughly arctic blast, and reopened last night under its new guise: The Polar Bar.

Despite the chilly set-up, which includes glacier installations, an interpretation of the ‘northern lights’ and assorted wildlife from the frozen tundra, punters can keep toasty beside outdoor heaters, or grab one of the luxurious furs to cuddle under with a cocktail or two.

The Polar Bar’s music focus will be a raft of top acoustic performances each night, with space for up to 150 people to kick up a snowstorm on the icy dancefloor.

If you run a local start-up business, or are planning on launching one anytime soon, you’ll want to be at Camden’s immersive seasonal speakeasy, Solomons Yard, next Thursday (26th). For one night only Interchange (the brand new co-working space in the heart of Camden Market), and Enternships are taking over, for what might well be the best start-up bash this side of the 1920s.

The prohibition-themed party space plays host to an evening of top level speakers, fantastic street food and decadent cocktails, plus networking and dancing through until the early hours.

Tickets are £25, which includes two drinks and dinner, but Kentishtowner readers can attend for free. Email hello@interchange.io for your free promotional code if you’re a start-up. Here’s the link to register.

Thurs 26th Nov, 7pm-midnight, Camden Market West Yard
