THEATRE: Get saucy at the Lion & Unicorn
When Bernard discovers his wife, Jacqueline, is having an affair, he blackmails her lover into bringing his own wife to dinner to surprise her. But that isn’t the only one the evening will bring. This frantic farce promises lashings of “French naughtiness” and plays from Jan 20 for five nights (ends Saturday Jan 24). Tickets £15 (call 08444 77 1000) 42-44 Gaisford Street NW5
CLUB: Swing by a hip hop block party
Spoken word trailblazer Scroobius Pip brings his block rockin’ club night We.Are.Lizards to The Stillery on Sat 24th Jan. He’ll be dropping hip hop cuts to whip up an atmosphere of what he describes as “ringing ears and spilt beers”, while unleashing the music “as loud as your body can comfortably receive it.” Alongside Scroob you’ll find resident former DMC champ DJ Destruction and English Disco Lovers, with Bones and Faer among the live shizzle on the night. 18 Kentish Town Road NW1

Could we have some special things to do in February as well, please as this is surely the darkest month…….
Another thing to do – especially for readers with energetic children : brave the cold and join our monthly playing out session on Ryland Road this Sunday from 2 to 5pm. The street will be closed to traffic for children to play out, and neighbours to meet up. Wrap yourselves up, bring your own (food, warm drinks, toys…) and join the fun!
Really useful to have a round-up of the local weekend activities… Any chance of this becoming a regular feature?
Hi Fran, our advice is to read us daily as every day we publish articles about things going on in the area, especially in our “Pinboard” section. You can also keep up with what readers are posting on Your.Kentishtowner.co.uk
