Our new Free November issue, an Archway special

Once again, from this afternoon, a very special edition of our print titles hits dozens of north London shops, libraries, pubs, galleries and cafes. And don’t worry, it’ll still cost you absolutely nada.

Yup, we’re back with another bumper issue which also contains our new title Gasholder, a guide to all things King’s Cross, St Pancras, Euston – and beyond.

First things first: it’s business as usual on the Kentishtowner side, with a whopper of an Archway special. Check out the specially-commissioned front cover artwork by Franck Allais, meet a load of “Archwegians”, and soak up a five page guide that reveals the best cafes, pubs, eateries, shops and other attractions.

Archway-phobe? Fear not, as there are the usual exciting regular features: we revisit underrated local institution the Kentish Canteen, author Joanna Briscoe meets the owners of Dartmouth Park’s charming Truffles Deli, and our columnist Sarah Park delves into the perils of dating older guys.

And flip the issue over for the second Gasholder, which includes a rundown of the best longstanding eateries you may have forgotten about in your race to Caravan or Grain Store (both excellent choices, of course). Elsewhere MOBO nominated rapper Ghetts reveals his favourite venues in London, we meet hip streetfood vendors Club Mexicana, and uncover the sometimes shocking history of Housmans alternative bookshop.

Oh, and still don’t understand the name? Simple: it symbolises both the area’s industrious past (there were once 23 of the magnificent Victorian structures) and its future, now that the iconic Gasholder No.8 is back in place. Even better, it’s set to be a forthcoming arts venue and park.

The joint issue of Gasholder/Kentishtowner is now available FREE at 100+ key pubs, bars, shops and cafes in eight London postcodes: N1, WC1, N1C, NW1, N7, NW5, N19, and NW3 and WC1 (see map and list below). If you like it, why not follow us on @gasholderLDN and check out the new site gasholder.london?
