Back in May we launched a brand new section (drum roll): Your Kentishtowner. The simple idea? It’s a platform for you, by you.
Want to tell our community of 50,000+ regular readers about something special? Share an eye-catching local photo, or contribute to a debate on a hot topic? As part of the Guardian’s N0tice citizen journalism project, this is a space where everyone can do exactly that.
Your Kentishtowner is also proving to be the perfect solution to the increasing number of exciting happenings that readers email us about on a daily basis. Dozens have been added so far, so, if you’re holding a fair, festival, car boot sale, gig, art exhibition or anything cultural in the summer months, don’t forget to upload the info and Tweet/Facebook the link to your community.
And it’s not all just useful, useful, useful. We’re also currently asking readers firstly to contribute pics of quirky street signs and graffiti you come across; and secondly, to share your personal stories of how you came to the area. The best will be published right here on our main site.
So what are you waiting for? Dive in. As ever, let us know what you think too. And happy sharing.
