Seen this new Tony Benn mural yet? Created by underground collective The Lurkers, it can be found somewhere deep in the neighbourhood. But we can’t tell you exactly where, as we’ve promised we wouldn’t let on.
Who the devil are they, anyway? “An intrigued group of individuals,” they say, not exactly shedding light on the issue. And they “specialise in the production of films and stylised shoots in obscure and interesting locations”.
Which would explain why they also shot a video to accompany the graffiti. “The footage was filmed on the Saturday after the passing of Tony Benn,” says main Lurker Frederick (not, we imagine, his real name), “on the Suffolk coastline at a disused Atomic weapons factory.”
And why commemorate Mr Benn? “To me personally, he was purely an inspiring character who stood for all the right things. He was also a family friend to certain people involved in the making of this short film.”
And that’s all they’ll say. For now. So, without further ado, watch it instead:
