1. We salute K-Town’s new record shop!
Is lower Fortess Road (the bit around the former Tally Ho pub) on the up? There’s a rumoured new restaurant about to open in the boarded-up ground floor site, the other week the new Housepresso cafe opened its doors, and, in a quirky space right behind is Electric Knife, a good old fashioned record shop selling CDs, vinyl (yes!) and tapes (!!)
But if you’re thinking of picking up the latest masterpiece by One Direction, forget it: owner Thanasis only dishes up experimental, noise, avant garde, “musique concrete” and “power electronica”.
If genres like that scare you a bit, don’t be afraid: he’s really friendly and super keen to make it work, so swing by and say hi. It’s quirky, hidden away and again underlines K-Town’s current spirit. 16a Fortess Road.
Next: a Saturday market nearby…

Kentish delight wine bar has re-arranged it’s letters… had never seen that place open before.
Please check the facts Kentishtowner. The Kentish Town Delight Tunnel Bar DOES NOT have a 2am alcohol licence. Its licence is 11.30 am Mon-Thu and midnight Fri and Sat. If they are selling alcohol until 2am then it is breaking the terms of its licence. The Police and Camden Enforcement have been notified.

Sorry, meant 11.30pm!

We did indeed check the facts – by going in and asking them.
Public details of the Kentish Town Delight Bar licence can be found here:

As you will see, from helpful Rich above, the licensing hours are 11.30pm during the week and midnight Friday and Saturday. You were lied to Kentishtowner. Good idea to check the facts properly on the Camden website before sowing seeds of dissension and jealously around Kentish Town. One of our members went into the Tunnel Bar and asked about their licensing hours and they looked sheepish and admitted their licence is only until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
