Pinboard: Things to do Easter 2013 – & a new festival for Camden Town

1. The best hot chocolate in the world, ever?

20130124-_MG_3688

If you’re stuck at home with not much to do this long weekend and fancy a bit of NW1 glamour, we strongly urge a stroll in the no-doubt biting winds to the oasis that’s the Gilbert Scott. Your reward? Why, hot cross buns, served with a heady-sounding Rémy Martin butter, available all weekend. Or, even better, Hot Cross Bun hot chocolate (pictured) with liquid cognac truffles (yikes!). And to calm the frostbite, a pianist will be tinkling the ivories too.

Also pretty tempting is their Weekend Roast Menu (£27) from 12pm to 6:30pm on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, and until 10pm on Easter Sunday and Monday. The chef is apparently very excited about his “amazing shoulder of lamb”; we’ve yet to taste it, but the restaurant was a huge hit with us when we reviewed it last year.

The Gilbert Scott, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Euston Road.
